Spring Summer TA - Zoom Hybrid Instructions

Room 100

1) Turn on lights


2) Turn on projector first (this is important). Remote is by the big black box at the far corner


3) Turn on TVs (remotes are by the TV, larger remote for Bigger Tv and Smaller remote for small TV)


4) Turn on Amazon Fire Tablet if not already running.

a. Press the button directly above the charging cable to activate tablet

b. Once the tablet is activated, simply swipe up from the bottom of the screen


5) Open Zoom Rooms App

a. The tablet should automatically open to the Zoom Rooms app. If not, click on the app icon:

b. If the tablet is unable to connect to the internet. Reconnect to WiFi (UTGR)


6) Start Meeting

a. The correct class might already be displayed. If not:

b. Click on the Meeting List page

c. Select the correct class

d. Click Start

e. Make sure it is unmuted and video is on

f. Select gallery view or speaker view with the “Change View” button


7) Prof’s computer

a. The lecturer should connect to the zoom call via Moodle.

b. They should be muted, camera off, and speakers off.

c. For the lecturer or guest to share slides, have them

i. screenshare their slides in Zoom (the slides should now appear on the projector and the two TVs), or

ii. press the green Share button on the tablet to get the sharing key and passcode. Then open Zoom, press Share Screen, and enter the displayed credentials.


8) Start Class

d. Admit students from waiting room

e. Disable waiting room

f. Check that recording is on

9) Breakout Rooms are similar to normal zoom interface


Room 230

1) Turn on lights


2) Turn on the two TVs (remotes are by the TV - Sharp Remote for Sharp V & TCL remote for TCL TV)


3) Turn on Amazon Fire Tablet if not already running.

b. Once the tablet is activated, simply swipe up from the bottom of the screen

2) Turn on LG TV (closes to the door and by the black box) first. Then the TCL TV hanging from the ceiling. And lastly, the other LG TV (furthest away from the door). This step is important for smoothing functioning of sharescreen option. Remotes are on the blackbox.
